Staying in Newark On Trent
Newark On Trent is a historic market town in Nottinghamshire, built around its marketplace and the River Trent. These hotels are spread from the town itself out to surrounding villages: Charles St, Boundary Road, Williams Street and Barnby Gate sit within about 1.1 km of the centre, while Bullpit Road, London Road, Gibson Crescent and Main St. in Kelham lie between 1.8 km and 3.3 km out. Further afield come Main Street in Thorpe at 5.1 km, Fosse Road at 7.2 km, Norwell at 8.1 km, Besthorpe at 11.2 km, and South Clifton and the Blue Bell Cottage address at 16.7 km and 18.9 km.
The town-centre apartments and guest houses suit short breaks and business trips, putting the marketplace within easy reach. Couples tend to favour the five-star guest houses with gardens and terraces, such as Newark Lodge Guest House, Manor Court and Bridge House Bed & Breakfast. Families have the widest choice among the self-catering cottages and apartments, which come with kitchens, cots, high chairs and family rooms. Those wanting restaurant and bar facilities on site look to The Lord Nelson Inn and Balderton Lodge, while Kelham House Country Manor Hotel adds wheelchair access.
